NAP MATS or SLEEPING MATS
Selecting a nap mat or sleeping mat can be fun, but with so many choices, it’s smart to first think about the following things, which will help you select the perfect item. 
Primary Use of Your Nap Mat
Will the mat be primarily for preschool, or more so for sleeping at Grandma’s, a friend’s house or on family trips?
Nap Mats for Preschool
Nap mats purchased for preschool or daycare should be durable, made with an all-in-one construction/design and should contain other important features.

• Durability. Nap mats chosen for preschool or daycare should be durable, made to wash often and of fabrics that can withstand being on hard surfaces.  Cavichi nap mat bottoms are made of either denim or a heavy weight brushed cotton twill, both of which are tested for durability and long term use.
• All-in-One Design. • Rolled Size. Most preschools and daycares are forced to keep storage areas to a minimum, thus nap mats must be small enough to fit within the cubby or area designated for each child.  A nap mat that rolls to fit into a small area is ideal.  Cavichi nap mats fold, then roll, snapping closed via a flap sewn to the bottom end of the nap mat, forming their own carrying bag, with attached shoulder strap.  This not only makes the mats easy to transport, but also to store.  They store nicely on a peg or hook, or even in a small space or tub for your child.
• Comfort.   • Quilted Nap Mat. A slip cover that goes over a vinyl mat not only provides less comfort, as the vinyl mat is typically considered less comfortable than a quilted, padded mat (like the construction of a comforter), but can also slip around, not optimizing the comfort of the child while moving during their sleep.  Cavichi nap mats are filled with a thick padding inside and then quilted with a 3” diamond stitching, making it what most consider the most comfortable nap mat on the market.
• Safety. Any nap mat that has straps or a carrying handle should be safe for use by young children.  Attached strap(s) should not be long enough that a child could become entangled in such, as child could be left unsupervised, which could pose a risk of entanglement and of strangulation.  If strap(s) are of this length, then they should be detachable so as to avoid this risk. Cavichi nap mats use a detachable shoulder strap for carrying and specify that such should be removed prior to use by child.  These warnings are on a permanent label attached to the nap mat.

• Use Beyond Preschool.  Smaller “toddler nap mats” or those typically designed for preschool or daycare are usually constructed to the size of the small cots or mats  - around 26” x 46” - that many preschools or daycares utilize for sleeping.  This means that after preschool, the child is usually unable to use the nap mat.  Cavichi nap mats are intended for use for use well beyond preschool age.  With a mat that measure 26” wide by 54” long, children up to seven or eight years can typically fit into our sleeping mats.
